- Properties of the coating:
- Thickness : 0.3 ± 0.1 mm
- Hardness : Rockwell superficial 40 HR 15N
- Bonding strength : No adverse effect. In fact the strength is improved.
- Behaviour under load : The coating starts cracking only when the steel begins to yield i.e., 2800 kg/cm 2 .
Corrosion resistance of coated steel ;
Salt spray test : > 2000 hours.-
Immersion in synthetic sea water: > 30 days. Immersion in 10% ammonium sulphate: >15 days.
